Data Analyst
About you:
We are seeking a Data Analyst to support our Planning and Build Teams. If you are someone who can deliver high quality data models, forecasts and reports, we would love to hear from you!
Ideally you will be available to travel to our Kent HQ twice a week.
The Role:
The Data Analyst will work closely with the Planning team to supply data models (Excel, Power BI, QGIS, APX) that describe current and future network coverage (Total Addressable Market, Total Homes Passed, backhaul and resilience routes). The role will also model data across the network, including competitor analysis, break down of build type (MDU, DIG, JUP and other).
Role Requirements:
- Deliver models of planned coverage for current and future network build (quarterly)
- Maintain descriptions of competitors (total coverage and overbuild)
- Break down models into build type (MDU, DIG, JUP and other)
- Develop and maintain profiler tools to quantify THP, cable meterage and other Business Plan metrics
- Supply PIA forecasts (quarterly)
- Supply internal procurement forecasts for key network elements
- Maintain Openreach pole data (supporting the Build teams)
- Submit Openreach lead-in registrations (monthly)
- Support the Planning team in all aspects of progress reporting (e.g. NOI Management)
- Development of new modelling capabilities to support strategic planning (e.g. Openreach PIA infrastructure)
- Maintain overviews of current network status (Ready for Service)
Qualifications / Training
- Educated to GCSE or equivalent, ideally grade 4 and above with Maths, English and IT or Science
- Previous experience in data modelling (Excel, QGIS)
- Previous FTTP planning experience with telecommunications
Desirable:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Engineering or a related field.
- Some previous experience of database modelling.
Skills / Experience
- Knowledge and experience of FTTP build processes
- An understanding of a FTTP / THP (Total Homes Passed) network
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Desirable:
- Experience of using APX system
- Delivery of Fibre optic network deployment
- Good working knowledge of NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Acts 1991)
- In-depth knowledge of the Openreach network and PIA systems and standards
