Customer Installation Engineer - East Anglia region

The role:
The Customer Installation Engineer will be responsible for supporting our customers through the journey to receiving our fibre broadband, providing a five star installation service from start to finish. Installing our FTTP network, trouble-shooting, supporting customers to ensure they are fully connected and offering an excellent overall experience are all key to the role. We are striving to go over and above for all of our customers! The role is principally working within a customer installation team. However, you may be required to carry out cabling work on our core distribution network.
Responsibilities:
Provision of FTTP Broadband services in both residential and business premises
• Installation and splicing of fibre cabling both underground and overhead
• Deployment and commissioning of customer premises equipment including ONT and router.
• Deliver professional and concise customer handover.
• Self-audit all works and ensure it meets all applicable technical and operational quality standards.
• Work efficiently and tidily, maintaining a clean environment a at all times.
• Respond effectively and appropriately to all customer requests and enquiries.
• Complete work to agreed time scales.
• Comply with Health & Safety standards.
• Ensure that all work activities comply with environmental regulations.
• Ensure the use of plant and tools are conducted in a safe manner, meeting the requirements for operation of the specific equipment.
• Comply with company Transport Policy
• Conduct daily checks of plant and tools, ensure they are safe to use and where applicable carry valid calibration certificates.
Your experience:
The successful applicant will have a proven track record of high-quality cabling work and excellent references, with at least 3 years’ experience of cabling in BT Openreach ducts and infrastructure - both overhead and underground.
• Experience working within a customer facing environment
• A strong focus on customer service
• The ability to problem-solve calmly
• Confidence working at height
• Strong communication skills, able to communicate effectively with customers, stakeholders and executive management
• A highly organised approach, able to work on multiple projects, installations and repairs without impact on service quality
• Previous experience in similar role
• Exposure to the OR network (PIA)
Essential qualifications:
• Educated to GCSE or equivalent, minimum grade in math and English
• Full clean driving license
• SA001/SA002 accreditations - in date
• NSRWA Unit 2 Signage, guarding and light.
Desirable qualifications not essential:
• IPAF MEWP Mobile Boom B3.
• Knowledge and experience of working to BT Openreach standards and processes for
underground safety, working at height and confined spaces.
• Current qualification to work on BT Network or equivalent.
